Short circuit 2 Prop Restoration

We had the opportunity to restore one of the original Number Five toy props used in the 1988 movie Short Circuit 2. While a few of these props were motorized and radio controlled, this was one of the many static versions created to populate the toy factory.

At some point, this prop’s wrists and forearms had been damaged, and the upper half of his neck and his eyelids had gone missing.

The restoration was a joint effort with Andrew Friedberg of the Johnny Five builder group Input Inc. involving repairing damaged sections, moulding and casting replacement parts, digitally modelling and 3D printing missing parts, and sympathetic paint touch-ups.
